i need to create a cohort table for trend and sustainable analysis using sql server. i have a user table that has near 4 million users and orders table near 95 million. Cohort table shows that loyal customer for us. For example 3122 users (registered January 2001) have 5113 orders for January 2001. Same users cluster have 6108 orders for February 2001. That is show trend for us.
I can calculate it using T-SQL. But i have a problem. This query is so dynamic (lock users find orders count each every month etc.) SP is not efficient although i make many tuning optimization.
How can I calculate it using MDX? Is it impossible. To sum up i need to lock users like Qlikview Select Possible options.
