Referenced Dimension, Many-to-Many Relationship, or something else?

My question would be easily understood if there was an accompanying diagram, but unfortunately I don’t know how to upload pictures here. Well – I will try my best to explain my case.

Setup:

  1. Measure Group A
  2. Measure Group B
  3. Conformed (?? Intermediate) Dimension – dimension Con
  4. ?? Referenced Dimension – dimension D

I have two measure groups (amongst others) in my cube as illustrated above. These two have a conformed dimension which I have calledCon. Measure group A has a dimension (I’ve called it D) which business would like to use to analyse data in measure groupB. All things equal, I would just use referenced dimension approach but it appears not possible in my case to do that.

The intermediate dimension – dimension Con does not have any common attribute/column that I can use to join dimensionD. May I please know how I can use dimension D on measure groupB?

Many thanks,

Mpumelelo
